CURZON Ashton avoided a late scare at the death via a controversial Will Hayhurst penalty after an injury-time double made it two wins from two from The Nash.
Luke Griffiths gave the visitors a 17th-minute lead when he latched on to the ball outside the box after strong hold-up play from James Spencer before firing a low, curling effort past an outstretched Myles Boney.
South Shields tested the visitors on multiple occasions, but were unable to put the ball past Bobby Jones in the first half.
