GRAYS Athletic won ahard-fought encounter against Maldon & Tiptree with a goal from Matas Skarna early in the second half, but opportunities were few and far between with both defences holding tight.
Matt Price had a very early attempt for Maldon but pulled his shot wide whilst Louie Remi for Grays had a couple of half chances.
Late in the half, Samuel Kuffour put Sonny Dutton clear for the visitors but he failed to hit the target.
