McGurk marks first start with winner

SOUTH SHIELDS 2 HEREFORD 1

SOUTH Shields extended their lead at the top of the table with victory over Hereford.
Shields won the game with an own goal from Matt Preston and a curling strike from Sean McGurk. Michael Parker got on the scoresheet for Hereford.
Both teams came into the game in good form; the hosts had won three in a row and their opposition were unbeaten in five. The Mariners took the lead when Preston found his own net in the 22nd minute.
