HIGH-FLYING Merthyr Town claimed a hard-fought victory over Buxton in a lively and, at times, heated encounter.
The visitors showed greater composure in key moments, while Buxton were left to rue missed chances and a costly dismissal.
Buxton struggled to build momentum, and their task became even harder when Kieran Burton was sent off following an unnecessary tackle that left the referee with little choice.
The red card shifted the balance firmly in Merthyr’s favour.
