SOUTH SHIELDS kept their automatic promotion push on track with a dominant second-half performance, against a Chester side who had been unbeaten in their previous seven league outings.
In a goalless first period, Chester enjoyed the better chances, however they couldn’t turn their superiority into goals, finding visiting keeper Tom Watson in outstanding form. The former Wigan man made a number of top draw saves to deny Jack Bainbridge and Pat Jones.
