TEN-man Chorley battled bravely but were ultimately left empty-handed as Darlington secured a first win at Chorley since 1988.
Goals from Cedric Main and Will McGowan either side of Harry Ibbitson’s first-half equaliser, proved decisive for the Quakers, who claimed all three points after Mark Ellis was dismissed early in the second half.
Darlington opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when a goal kick was played down the right flank to Max Howells.
