SUBSTITUTE Malakai McKenzie netted a last-minute winner to end Merthyr’s six-match unbeaten run.
A game affected by heavy wind still had a plethora of chances but it was one-way traffic in the first half.
Southport could’ve taken the lead after ten minutes when Jordan Slew flicked to DJ Pedro, who ran in behind and from a wide angle the forward tried to square across to Danny Lloyd but Jaimie Cogman was out quickly to prevent a tap-in for the home side.
