Martyrs hit by stunning Reds show

ALFRETON staged a dramatic late turnaround to claim victory over Merthyr in an absorbing contest.
The visitors struck first on 41 minutes when Kieran Evans capitalised on a defensive lapse from Max Hunt. Evans seized possession, drove forward with purpose and calmly slotted beyond Harry Burgoyne to give Merthyr the advantage.
Alfreton responded after the interval and came agonisingly close to levelling on 65 minutes. Billy Fewster met a cross with a diving header that beat goalkeeper Jake Dennis but crashed back off a post.
