Mariners step up bid for a play-off place

MARINE secured an important win in their play-off hunt against a home side fighting for survival.
The visitors started strongest and were awarded a penalty on three minutes after Jack Bearne brought his man down in the box. However, they were unable to capitalise as George Newell’s effort struck the post.
City were further let off when Fin Sinclair-Smith was played through on goal, with the forward somehow poking his effort wide.
