After moving into the hotseat at Eastbourne Borough yesterday, new boss Mark McGhee has wasted no time in adding to his backroom staff by bringing in his former player Charlie Oatway as First Team Coach.
Oatway, who played under the new Borough boss at Brighton in the early 2000’s, is an experienced coached having recently gained experience in the Chinese Super League with Shanghai Shenhua under Gus Poyet.
The former midfielder quickly became a fans favorite during his time with Brighton, having played a key role in McGhee’s squad which won promotion to the Championship in 2004.
Oatway now joins McGhee, assistant manager Danny Bloor and goalkeeping coach Dean Lightwood for the remainder of Borough’s National South campaign.

Eastbourne are currently sitting in 15th place in the National League South, following Saturday’s disappointing defeat to Billericay Town.
