Leigh Robinson relieved after being sacked by Truro City

Axed Truro City boss Leigh Robinson says he is relieved to no longer be in charge of the club.
Robinson left Taunton Town in September to join the White Tigers in the National League South.
He oversaw a promising start in Cornwall, but a recent run of six matches without a win has left Truro just a point above the relegation zone with six games to play.
Truro have had a difficult season off the pitch too, initially playing home games at Torquay United before moving back to their Treyew Road home. They have also recently been taken over by the Cornish Pirates rugby club.
“My only feeling is one of relief as I found it an extremely difficult environment to manage in,” Robinson told Somerset County Gazette.
“Whilst we had to get rid of a lot of dead wood in our time at the club, there are some really good players and lads there who I wish all the best for the rest of the season.”
Paul Wilkinson, who has worked as Grimsby Town’s assistant manager most recently, has been placed in temporary charge until the end of the season.
In a brief statement, Truro confirmed: “The difficult decision has been taken to relieve first-team manager, Leigh Robinson, and assistant manager, Michael Meaker, of their duties with immediate effect.
“We thank them for their efforts and wish them well in their future endeavours.”
