Welling United swoop for triple signing

Welling United

Following on from their heartbreak in the National League South play-off final last season, Welling United are limbering up for another assault on promotion after making an impressive triple signing.
New Wings’ boss Mark Goldberg has added three new signings to his squad with the addition of Richard Platt, Reece Prestedge and Adam Coombes.
Platt arrives at Park View Road having previously been on the books at Gloucester City and Hednesford Town.
The defender spent last season in Step 3 with Chesham United and Bedworth Town.
Meanwhile, midfielder Prestedge joins Welling having been part of Goldberg’s National League South promotion winning side in 2015.
He has also featured for the likes of Chelmsford, Bishop’s Stortford and Maidstone.
For their final signing,  the Wings have also swooped to secure the signature of Adam Coombes.
Coombes is already a firm favourite at Park View Road having represented the Kent club on three previous occasions already.
He originally signed for Welling in 2016 and was in deadly form, scoring over 30 goals, including a double hat-trick against Swindon Supermarine before moving on to Sutton.
Last season the front man split his time up between Welling and their Step 2 rivals Billericay Town.
The Wings are currently going through a summer of reconstruction following the departure of former boss Steve King after May’s play-off final defeat.
