Higgins late show averts boss curse

EAST Thurrock United looked set to surrender their unbeaten record with barely a whimper on a day it was announced manager John Coventry had won the division’s manager of the month award.
But the award’s so-called curse was thwarted by Sam Higgins’ 89th-minute equaliser.
The Stones looked the more ambitious side through the opening stages and their endeavour was rewarded in the 13th minute when Dan Fitchett was allowed time to turn on the edge of the box and he curled a low shot inside Lukas Lidakevicius’ post.
