SALFORD City stretched their lead at the top to seven points after coming from behind to beat Tamworth.
Mike Phenix’s secondhalf header sealed the points after Mark Shelton’s stunning free-kick had cancelled out Aman Verma’s goal in a lively opening 45 minutes. Tamworth started the stronger with Darryl Knights at the fore, the ex-Kidderminster ace seeing his 20-yard strike smack the bar. The Ammies finally settled but Tamworth deservedly led on 26 minutes.
