A LATE Sam Merson strike ensured that the points were shared at Clarence Park.
Oxford opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Matt Paterson picked the ball up on the right, turned a defender and cut into the box before laying it off to Rob Sinclair, who found the bottom corner of the net.
The visitors should have doubled their lead six minutes later.
Zac McEachran ran on to a through ball and rounded Dean Snedker but failed to pull the trigger, allowing St Albans to get back and it was David Noble who cleared the ball.
