THE VISIT of Stockport County to the Merseyrail Community Stadium was seen by many as the biggest test of Southport’s recent resurgence.
But this eagerlyawaited clash was marred by a Stockport fan who encroached onto the field in the second half and attacked a Southport substitute warming up on the sidelines, prompting an on-going police investigation.
