CONDITIONS dictated a poor game at the FutureFuel Stadium, where a difficult pitch and a strong wind kept chances to a premium.
The draw was a fair result, though Eastbourne may feel they were the most deserving side, having forced two good saves in 90 minutes from Lukas Lidakevicius.
At the other end, Mark Smith was largely untroubled, the most he had to do was stoop down and collect a cheeky back-heel attempt from East Thurrock’s Lewis Smith midway through a forgettable first half.
