OXFORD CITY and Eastbourne Borough played out a goalless draw in the opening round of fixtures of the National League South season in sweltering conditions at Marsh Lane.
City had the better of the chances in the first half, Zac McEachran was the first to be denied as Kristian Campbell recovered superbly to get across and tackle as the City midfielder was shaping to shoot.
Joe Oastler produced a similar challenge minutes later at the other end, however from a wider position, to prevent a cross coming into the box.
