TRURO were relegated after they failed to beat in-form Slough Town and Hungerford grabbed a last-minute draw.
Only a Crusaders would save City if they beat a Slough side which still harboured faint play-off hopes.
And they were unable to fulfil their part of the bargain, despite scoring twice in stoppage time to rescue an unlikely point.
There was also disappointment for Slough, who at one stage were within a Hemel goal of making the play-offs.
