REBELS AT LAST BREAK DOWN IRON RESISTANCE

MATT LENCH’S lastgasp winner ensured Slough benefitted from a dominant display.
The Rebels registered 20 shots on goal to Braintree’s one but they were made to wait until the 83rd minute to break the deadlock after Matt Lench finally beat his former Hitchin teammate Michael Johnson between the sticks having frustrated them for so long. Johnson was in inspired form throughout, denying Lench on five minutes with a save low to his left before making another stop ten minutes later when faced by Ben Harris.
