ST ALBANS kick-started their campaign with a comfortable 5-0 victory over a poor Welling United.

Shaun Jeffers was the star of the show, as he struck a nine-minute hat-trick inside the opening quarter of an hour.
The forward opened the scoring just three minutes in when he latched onto a John Goddard through ball and dinked over the on-rushing Mahoney.
With seven minutes on the clock, Jeffers poked home his second at the back post after a delivery from the left led to a scramble that the visitors failed the clear.
