EASTBOURNE Borough dug deep and showed great determination to see off Hemel Hempstead despite playing with ten men for over an hour.
Joel Rollinson’s second half header proved the difference for the Sports, who had Greg Luer sent off before Lee Worgan saved Charlee Hughes’ resulting penalty.
Borough started on the front foot in windy conditions at Priory Lane, with Charley Kendall’s low effort deflected wide of the near post and Steve James heading over.
