DIPO AKINYEMI scored the only goal as Welling United claimed a vital three points against Chelmsford City.
Early on, Chelmsford enjoyed the better of the possession but did not create chances and Welling had the first real opportunity when Eduino Vaz had to throw himself into the line of fire to block Tom Derry’s shot.
Ten minutes before the break, Welling scored the crucial goal.
