ASHLEY Hemmings’ 52nd-minute goal earned Kidderminster Harriers a hard-fought opening day win at Blyth Spartans.
At a sunny Croft Park, the first opening came as Spartans striker Lewis McNall weaved between challenges on the edge of the box before his effort was well saved by Tom Palmer.
The next notable chance didn’t come until four minutes before the break when Ethan Freemantle fired a half-volley over at the other end.
It didn’t take long for the game to develop a livelier feel after the restart....
