IT was the battle of the newly promoted to kick off the National League North.
Sports took the lead just after the half-hour as winger Jordan Nicholson was brought down in the area and a penalty was awarded. With Sports’ main penalty taker, Dan Lawlor, on honeymoon, it was down to Dan Jarvis to step up. Despite Theo Richardson guessing the right way, Jarvis’ shot found the bottom corner to send the Turbines into raptures.
