MILLERS’ HISTORY DAY ENDS IN LOSS

OPENING DAY saw Chippenham welcome Aveley who were playing their first game at Step 2 level in their 97-year history.
The game burst into life as Kenny Aileru struck the bar after he took aim from 20 yards out. Matt Rush was next to have a go at goal, but he saw his shot flash wide of the right post.
Twenty-five minutes into the game and the opening goal came, Tyreke Johnson, a summer signing for the Bluebirds from Woking, cut inside and saw his cross-shot flash into the top-left corner of the goal.
