TAUNTON returned to action after a two week break but endured a frustrating afternoon as their ten-game unbeaten run in the National League stuttered to an end at Wordsworth Drive.
The hosts enjoyed more possession but it was the visitors who grabbed what proved to be the all-important goal in just the second minute.
The Peacocks were caught napping, Hampton skipper Jake Gray cutting the ball across for Mason Bloomfield to slot home.
