HEMEL HEMPSTEAD made a superb start with Dartford keeper Mitchell Beeney having to make three crucial saves in the first five minutes. Kyle Ajayi then hit the post on 12 minutes as Dartford struggled to get a foothold.
The game settled down towards the interval and became a stalemate until the 40th minute when Josh Hill was adjudged to have tripped a Darts forward and Luke Coulson stepped up to give the visitors the lead.
