BRAINTREE TOWN moved into the National League South play-off places after a hard-fought win over Torquay United, despite playing over 65 minutes with ten men.
Forward Alfie Pavey was sent off in the 25th minute after losing his head and lashing out at Torquay’s Ross Marshall, but his team showed great character thereafter.
The hosts started well with Tom Blackwell almost heading his side ahead from a corner after eight minutes before going close again in the 14th minute.
