FARNBOROUGH kicked off their home campaign with a nail-biting victory over Paul Wotton’s revitalized Torquay United.
It was the hosts who had a chance to take the lead when Guy Hollis headed Olly Pendlebury’s corner over.
Two minutes later, Pendlebury’s long range-strike whistled past the post.
Gulls keeper James Hamon was called into action on the half-hour mark, beating away Taylor Clark’s left-footed strike.
