Urchins withstand an onslaught by Sports

ARMOUR-PLATED defending earned Hornchurch a point in the face of relentless Eastbourne Borough pressure.
Borough started strongly and on 12 minutes home striker Alfie Pavey shot a mile high with the goal gaping. And Courtney Clarke curled a 30-yarder only just over. But Hornchurch snatched the lead – a ball through the left channel found Henry Hearn, who turned the centre-backs inside out to score from ten yards. The lead lasted six minutes. Michael Klass squeezed in behind the defence and Pavey netted at the back post.
