A WONDER strike from George Marsh, directly from a corner, proved to be the difference in the battle of the debutant managers between Andy Carroll’s Dagenham and Redbridge and Jimmy Ball’s Torquay United.
The Daggers, who also had new shareholder KSI in attendance, threatened to draw first blood on seven minutes when Stan Leech connected with a cross from Harvey Broad.
Leech went close again for the hosts when he nodded a Reggie Young cross over.
