JOSEPH Marsden and Gareth Heath scored the goals as Needham Market proved too strong for Hitchin.
Hitchin, anxious to avenge the 8-1 thrashing in the corresponding fixture, began well. They enjoyed good possession with efforts from Jay Dowie and Moses Olanrewaju going wide.
The Canaries probed insistently with shots from Michael Cane and Daniel Webb and a lob from Josh Bickerstaff.
