ALVECHURCH bounced back from Tuesday’s defeat to Barwell by beating Hitchin Town.
Alvechurch struggled to get into their usual rhythm from the start and Hitchin looked to take advantage, pressing and forcing the home side into sloppy passes.
Jay Dowie tried a long-range strike from distance which went wide, while Issac Galliford struck the crossbar after Alvechurch failed to clear a bouncing ball.
Alvechurch did have two golden chances; new signing James Roberts firing wide before Josh March followed suit moments later.
