BOTH clubs were in urgent need of improving their league form, and it was Stourbridge who responded with a convincing first win of the season.
Their attacking play was as persistent as the rain with early shots from Darryl Knights and Ben O’Hanlon.
With successive corners being forced, Hitchin keeper Charlie Horlock needed his full repertoire to prevent an opening goal that seemed overdue.
