A STRONG comeback from Hitchin Town was not enough to stave off another defeat.
Rushden took the lead after a corner in the third minute. The appropriately named Ben Diamond was the scorer and his team were soon in control.
Hitchin were not without ideas and skipper Dan Webb spurned the chance of an equaliser as did Matthew Moloney.
The best effort came with Lawrie Marsh’s shot that hit the foot of the post before Rushden launched a swift counter, forcing a defensive error allowing Ty Deacon to double the lead for the visitors, the bal...
