HARTLEY Wintney came out on top in a match between two relegation-threatened clubs.
Kofi Halliday’s second-half goal proved to be the difference against Merthyr Town.
The first half was punctuated by many stoppages with neither goalkeeper really tested.
Then, approaching half-time, a Jordan Edwards corner for the Row found Dan Fitchett who shot over the bar.
The Martyrs responded and a right-wing cross from Adam Davies found Kieran Evans whose low shot missed narrowly across the face of the goal.
