MET POLICE withstood a spirited Merthyr fightback to claim the spoils in Wales.
The Martyrs welcomed their supporters for the clash following a lift of restrictions from the Welsh government.
Met Police piled on the pressure after a composed finish in the bottom corner by frontman Liam Ferdinand after just three minutes.
The Blues were running the home side ragged in the first half and doubled their lead when skipper Oliver Robinson connected well with a Knight corner to place his header in the back of the net.
