A BATTLING Lowestoft pushed fellow strugglers Hitchin all the way in this crucial fixture and probably deserved a point.
With Hitchin threatening to take the early lead, Lowestoft won a corner, sent in short by Louis McIntosh and headed beyond Charlie Horlock by Tai Fleming after 26 minutes.
Hitchin responded positively and were level in the last minute of the first half. Warren Burwood was off his line and his poor clearance fell to Stephen Cawley whose measured lob was out of Burwood’s reach.
