STAMFORD ensured a play-off place remains a possibility going into the last day of the season with a goal in each half against struggling Hitchin.
The Daniels saw Rhys Hilton cause havoc down the wing and he fed Jack Duffy but his shot was just wide.
Harry Vince was brought down for a free-kick which led to Hilton skimming the bar.
Duffy turned provider, showing good feet and rolling Hilton in but he was denied by Charles Horlock.
