STUBBORN Stamford held off the desperate challenge of the hosts who put everything into gaining the equaliser they richly deserved.
The Daniels have had a perfect run by of wins against the Canaries since their return to this division and they did it again in resolute style.
Hitchin enjoyed good possession and were as creative as in attack as the visitors were adept at thwarting each move.
There were fine efforts from Harry Titchmarsh and Solomon Sambou, whose speculative lob beat Thomas Jackson but went wide.
