Pitman fuels big Magpies triumph

AN 18-minute hat-trick from new signing Brett Pitman doubled the Magpies goal tally at the Avenue Stadium.
Taro Chitepo pulled off a superb challenge to prevent Olaf Koszela firing the Magpies ahead, while Christopher Ovenden cleared off the visitors’ goalline to keep out a close range Shaq Gwengwe flick. Will Spetch headed over from Corby Moore’s corner, while Chitepo prevented Wes Fogden converting a Luke Roberts cross.
The breakthrough came after 32 minutes when Chitepo lost out to Roberts who nodded in from six yards.
