STAMFORD enjoyed a much-needed win with a convincing win over Royston – leapfrogging the visitors in the process to move off the bottom of the table.
Stamford started strong and Jack Thomas showed good strength to hold off a challenge and cross to Kai Tonge, but his header was acrobatically tipped over by Louis Chadwick.
The resulting corner from Harry Vince saw Chadwick spill the ball but it was hacked away.
It was all Stamford as the home team were comfortable in defence and starting to create chances.
