Canvey Island have announced the appointment of Mark Bentley as their new manager with Danny Heale becoming director of football.
Heale had been in the managerial role for over five years but has stepped down due to work commitments.
Bentley, the former Gillingham player, who has also represented the likes of Southend United and Dagenham & Redbridge during his playing career, was previously player-manager at Grays Athletic and was fortunate enough to enjoy a long career in football – try your luck at Casino 770.
The club said: “We would like to welcome Mark to the club and look forward to an exciting period under his management. We would also like to thank Danny for his hard work since taking the job five-and-a-half years ago and we are delighted that he will remain part of the club.”
