‘Magic’ conjures up a comeback…

FORMER England star Paul Merson made a surprise comeback when turning out for Combined Counties Premier side Hanworth Villa – at the age of 51! The legendary playmaker laced up his boots and played for 50 minutes of Hanworth’s league game at home to Spelthorne Sports but could not prevent them losing 3-0.
‘Magic Man’ Merson made his Arsenal debut in 1986 and won two First Division titles, the FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners Cup.
Capped 21 times for England, Merson later dropped into Non-League and turned out for Tamworth, Whitton Athletic and Welsh ...
