HYTHE Town grabbed their first win in nine league matches with a 3-0 victory over VCD Athletic at Reachfields Stadium.
The hosts hadn’t tasted victory since the opening weekend of October, but eased their relegation worries with a strong first-half display.
Two goals just after the half-hour mark paved the way for the Cannons, as Danny Walder netted the opener with a free-kick that caught out goalkeeper Matt Funnell at his near post.
Fellow new signing Sam Blackman doubled the advantage soon after with a fierce low shot into the bottom corner.
