■ CANVEY Island came from a goal down to to beat Aveley.
The visitors took the lead after 19 minutes when debutant Makhosini Khayne’s cross from the left was headed home by Emmanuel Ogunrinde.
Canvey equalised five minutes later as Michael Finneran’s deep ball into the box from the right found Harrison Chatting on the far side, and he lashed a stunning left-footed shot home. The hosts then took the lead on 32 minutes when a long, raking ball down the right by Jamie Salmon found the run of Evans Kouassi. He cut inside and saw his shot save...
