A FIRST-HALF strike from Harry Gibbs and a brace from Manny Ogunrinde sealed vctory for Aveley, as they eased past Basildon United.
In what ended up being the perfect afternoon for the hosts, it was Gibbs who opened the scoring, connecting with Alex Akrofi’s corner, before thumping home.
The hosts continued to dominate in the second-half, but this did not stop Basildon from equalising through Nathan Fuma’s rebounded effort.
