DEREK Asamoah netted twice as New Salamis edged a thrilling clash with Gorleston.
The two teams were playing their first games at Step 4 level, but they both looked right at home.
New Salamis took the lead in the 19th minute against the run of play when home keeper Jake Jessup parried a shot into the path of George Lutaaya for a tap-in.
The equaliser came in the 39th minute from Gorleston’s first corner of the game, which was headed in by Connor Deeks.
