LASTE Dombaxe’s red ncard proved costly for Maldon & Tiptree as they slipped to an opening-day defeat at the hands of visitors Tilbury.
Dombaxe got a straight red for his part in a fracas in first-half stoppage-time that saw bookings for the home side’s Scott Kemp and Tilbury’s Billy Harris.
It came after a first half dominated by the hosts, George Forest having a header cleared off the line, while Harvey Sayer forced a save from Tilbury keeper Finlay Thackaway.
